To “make no bones about” something means to speak or act directly and freely. When things are expressed in society over and over they become normalized. This exposure is essential for creating space for the strange but also makes it vulnerable.

Interested in the dichotomy of exposure as helpful and hurtful, the works deny a fully-formed figure to deny the body as a site for projected desires or oppressions, giving exposure to hybrid beings that exist between binaries and present themselves as strange and unstable. The work, while rooted in Genoble's own lived experiences, creates space for the representation of historically marginalized bodies.
