From the cozy to the spooky, we’re looking for art from all ages and skill levels to participate, at no cost to you!

About the Exhibition - This December, Charlotte Is Creative is partnering with NoDa's beloved Artisan’s Palate to curate an exhibition featuring Charlotte-based artists that will be displayed in the on-site gallery.

We’re looking for 4–5 artists to have their work displayed in a Charlotte is Creative gallery. Artists are encouraged to submit a small selection of their work that represents their style and gives us a sense of what they would like to exhibit.

Selected artists will have their work on display throughout December, with an opening reception in early December. Artists will also have the opportunity to sell their work.

Toe River Arts has two exhibition spaces in Spruce Pine, the Kokol Gallery and, on the second floor, the Owen Gallery which displays 2D work only. The Kokol gallery is approx. 1280 sq.ft., the Owen gallery is approx. 900 sq. ft.

Our exhibitions are open to both local and nationally recognized artists or organizations. We encourage 3D, 2D, and interdisciplinary proposals. Please note that our exhibition spaces are limited in 2027 and that 2D proposals will be prioritized for our Owen Gallery to accommodate programming.

Selected artworks will be in one of the Southeast’s largest and most prestigious art events from April 9th – May 1st, 2027 and be in the running for over $100,000 in cash prizes. Your work will be among hundreds exhibited throughout our downtown in galleries, warehouses, restaurants, shops, and other venues.

Thousands of people will see it, including art curators, collectors, critics, and news media. This event offers a special way for art to be displayed outside of the traditional white walls of a gallery or museum.

All submissions will be reviewed by an independent panel of arts professionals and rated on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 = lowest score; 10 = highest score).

Up to 400 artists receiving the top average jury ratings will be invited to exhibit and compete during the 2027 ArtFields Festival in Lake City, South Carolina.

Theatre Charlotte invites Charlotte-area visual artists to exhibit their work in our lobby during the run of one of our mainstage productions: A Christmas Carol. We're looking for artwork with themes addressing social class / status, Victorian London, greed, generosity, redemption.

There is no cost to participate, and artists may sell their work during the exhibit. Theatre Charlotte promotes participating artists through social media, email newsletter, lobby signage, and our print and digital playbill, giving your work an opportunity to reach a new audience. Depending on the production, artists and their guests may be invited to a preview performance or receive an invitation for themselves and a guest to attend a regular performance.

Calling Southeastern artists and makers! The market this year will happen during opening weekend of the 2026 ArtFields Festival on Friday, April 9th and Saturday, April 10th. Booths are $75 for both days or $50 for one day.

This fan favorite event features 3, one hour long live-action rounds. Our prizes this year are: 1st Place – $2,000, 2nd Place – $1,000, and 3rd Place – $500. The contest will be from 12 – 4PM on Saturday, April 17th.
