We are looking for work that is vibrant, imaginative, personal, disruptive, playful, rooted, and unapologetically visible. A collection of works that best fit the space and theme will be selected. Show opens July 22 at The Arts Factory in Historic West End and runs through September 21.

NoCo ARTS invites artists to submit work for ‘Beyond Boundaries’, an exhibition celebrating the limitless possibilities of abstract art. This dynamic show explores color, form, texture, movement, and imagination—encouraging artists to push creative boundaries and express ideas beyond the representational.
Featured within the exhibition will be a special presentation of work by acclaimed local abstract artist Bev Biser of @studio1bev, whose expressive and dynamic approach to abstraction has inspired designers and collectors around the world.
Artists working in all abstract mediums are encouraged to apply. Whether your work is bold and expressive, subtle and contemplative, or experimental and innovative, we invite you to share your unique artistic vision.

The Journey Exhibition

Queen City Art and International House invite immigrant and refugee artists living in the Charlotte region to apply for The Journey, an exhibition exploring the experiences, stories, and perspectives of those who have made the United States their home.
This project focuses on the use of visual arts to illustrate the harrowing, complicated, and hope-filled journeys our immigrant and refugee neighbors take to come to the United States. Through painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, fiber art, mixed media, and other visual art forms, artists are encouraged to share personal stories of migration, identity, belonging, cultural heritage, resilience, adaptation, and community.
Selected artists will receive a $150 stipend to create a new artwork inspired by their own journey, heritage, experiences, or reflections on immigration and cultural identity. Selected works will be exhibited from September 1–30, 2026.
The community members will vote, and the winning artist will have their artwork featured in International House’s Annual Report for 2026 as well as win a prize provided by International House.
Word on the Street Exhibition

Words shape culture, memory, protest, identity, fantasy, and connection. Word on the Street invites artists to explore the visual power of language in all its forms.
This exhibition seeks artwork inspired by written text, typography, handwritten notes, graffiti, poetry, books, signage, symbols, coded messages, fictional languages, maps, annotations, lyrics, public statements, and the marks humans leave behind to communicate. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly, from literal text-based works to pieces influenced by storytelling, translation, communication, censorship, language systems, or invented scripts and symbols.
All media styles and interpretations are welcome.

FRESH, Artspace’s bi-annual fundraising exhibition and celebration of NC artists, is back! FRESH is a group exhibition featuring new works of visual art by North Carolina artists. The exhibition demystifies the process of a juried art exhibition while providing artists from across the state with an opportunity to show their work, bringing together seasoned professionals and never-before-exhibited artists.
Unlike a traditional juried exhibition, all submitted works will be displayed in our main gallery spaces from September to mid-October before our juror, Lia Newman, makes her selections. The final juried exhibition debuts on October 29th. Artists may submit one work of art. All submitted works must be for sale.

Francis Marrion University Gately Gallery is currently seeking proposals for the 2027 Academic Year Exhibitions Calendar. Submissions will be reviewed and selected by a committee of FMU faculty. Shows typically run for 7 to 8 weeks.
Gately Gallery is a 3000+ square-foot space with over 200 feet of wall exhibition space including 96 feet of movable partition walls. There is an additional 85-square-foot front window bay that should be utilized for exhibition.
