Groundbreaking
Anne Neilson Fine Art

June 21, 2025
Open through:
As the trees begin to blossom in their pastel colors, and as the seeds begin to break through the ground to turn into flowers, the works by these artists are meant to evoke the sense of beauty, growth and renewal of the peak of the spring season.
Through her larger than life botanicals, butterflies, and more, Birmingham based artist, Emily Morgan Brown, puts a contemporary spin on a centuries old technique, tempera painting.
Peggi Kroll-Roberts paints animated figures, and breaks away from conventional still life with playful paintings of everyday scenes. Peggi's work gives us a new appreciation of daily life.
As a beautiful complement to the peaking energy of spring, the exhibition will also include the floral works by Asheville-based artist, Ani Kinyon.
Ani loves to paint the idea that there is beauty at all stages of one's life. Flowers showcase this brilliantly – their colors and textures changing, enhancing and surprising us in ways unexpected.
Kevin Morris is interested in giving presence, depth and space to small, seemingly insignificant, ephemeral things such as flowers, bugs, or interior scenes of domestic life.
Joey Lancaster is an artist from Fort Worth, Texas who is known for her depictions of the Aspen tree in plaster, her medium of choice. Joey’s isolation of the subject—just the bark of the aspens, just the petals of a flower ... no leaves or landscapes, allows their simplicity yet complicated beauty to shine through.
Lisa Noonis is a mixed-media painter whose work approaches a wide range of subject matter from still life and landscapes to florals and personal narratives. Her paintings are expressive with a strong use of color and materiality.
The opening celebration will be May 22nd, 5-7pm.
