"Echoes" is a solo feature of new watercolor works by Veronica Davila, capturing a year in her family's life in Lewiston, Idaho (1986-1987). Inspired by family photographs, the collection includes her signature watercolors and three-dimensional pieces, evoking nostalgia and the beauty of everyday moments.

In 1986, Veronica’s family arrived in Lewiston for a year-long adventure. They spent the summer exploring the area, with moments of discovery like fast food, K-Mart trips, and long drives through the desert. School, new foods, and television shows like MTV and Nickelodeon filled their days. Christmas was spent in Hawaii, while the family engaged with both locals and expats, with the nearby Potlatch paper mill at the center of their stay.

Painted in 2024-2025, the works reflect this time of discovery, blending realistic scenes with dream-like qualities.

Veronica Davila (née Källqvist) is a Swedish-born watercolor artist, influenced by her grandfather Georg's loose, documentary style. After moving to the U.S. in the mid-80s, she earned a fine arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. With 20+ years in visual arts, she now lives with her husband and teenage son in Matthews.
